I am a simple person who believes in the power of building real relationships. I am a dentist by profession but several years back, I realized why only work on the teeth when you can work on the whole body. I started my yoga journey eight years back when we were living in Michigan, USA & went on to become a certified yoga instructor from a Yoga Alliance-affiliated institute. I am also certified in pranayama and Pre and Post-Natal Yoga including Garbha Sanskar. Registered with Yoga Alliance International, I have taught Yoga for several years. While yoga is considered to be predominantly a physical activity, my main focus remains on breathing and its synchronization with the physical movement of the body. I follow Iyengar yoga, and I specialize in All Level Power Vinyasa.
I would love to play a small part in your health and wellness journey. Whether with me or somebody else or even on your own, start something for yourself as your compassion begins with you.
The word Tapas is derived from the Sanskrit verb ‘tap’ which means ‘to burn’ and evokes a sense of ‘fiery discipline’ or ‘passion’. In this sense, Tapas can mean cultivating a sense of self-discipline, passion and courage in order to burn away ‘impurities’ physically, mentally and emotionally, and paving the way to our true greatness.
‘Tapas’ doesn’t strictly mean pushing ourselves harder in a physical sense. Sometimes just actually making the time to get on the mat and meditate or practice for 10 minutes every day is difficult enough! For some, Tapas will mean making time to be still and observing the mind, and for others, it could be about being kinder to yourselves.
Tapas is an aspect of the inner wisdom that encourages us to practice
even when we don’t feel like it, even though we know how good it makes
us feel.
It’s that fiery passion that makes us get up and do our practice for the
love of it.
It is about having the courage not to listen to the voices in our head
that tell us we’re ‘not strong enough’ or ‘not good enough’.
It is about acting from a place of positivity and love.
